Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough were emerging as a force in the English league in the period before the second world war, and were predicted to go on to become challengers for the title after their finish of 4th in the last full season before the war. The club was unable to recover after the war however, and perhaps their best period of success was robbed from them by, of all people, the Germans!
Relegation followed in the 1953-54 season, and this condemned Middlesbrough to a 20 year spell outside of the top flight.
This was also the spell that witnessed the emergence of their greatest goalscorer - Brian Clough - who scored an extraordianry 204 goals in 222 games before leaving for Sunderland. Despite these goals, however, Middlesbrough were not among the promotion chasers, and would have to wait a few more years before they would once again experience top flight football.

Middlesbrough`s star player of the Premier League
Juninho has been chosen to be Middlesbrough`s star player of the Premier League becuase he was an incredible player who played like a typical Brazilian, he was skillful on the ball, he scored some great goals, but he was more of a creative player who alot of the time was given a free role by the manager then Bryan Robson.
He was a player the fans addored. He was one of the most talented player who ever played in Middlsbrough`s colours. Juninho was heavilly involved in helping Middlesbrough to two domestic cup finals in one season when they got to the League Cup final against Liecester City but unfortunatly for Middlesbrough they were defeated. Also in that season Middlesbrough got through to the FA Cup final against Chelsea where once again they were defeated by there opponents this time Chelsea.
Although Middlesbrough were defeated in those two cup finals, Juninho had a great season and the number 10 was certainly a fan favourite who the Boro faithful loved to watch each week.
