Newcastle United
With money to burn in the 1995-96 season, Kevin Keegan's Newcastle became one of the most exciting teams ever to grace the English Premiership, making gung-ho attacking football an art. The club came very close to winning the league that has eluded them for so long, and at one stage of the season were famously 12 points clear of Manchester United. However, the limitations of Keegan's all-out attack were soon to be seen, perhaps most vividly in a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool that has since been descibed as the 'greatest game in Premiership history'. Keegan's rivalry with Ferguson came to boiling point with his 'Love it!!' interview, and shortly after the league was lost, with Keegan resigning.
Newcastle have since spent huge amounts in attempting to recapture the glory of Keegan's team, but without success. The Geordie faithful will be hoping that Sam Allardyce can now do for their team what he managed to do at much smaller Bolton. Surely it can't be too much longer before these sleeping giants are woken?

Newcastle United`s star player of the Premier League
Alan Shearer as been chosen for Newcastle`s star player because he was an amazing striker for Newcastle, he was also a true geordie although his only winners medal came with Blackburn Rovers his loyalty and commitment was always with Newcastle United.
Shearer got many goals for Newcastle and was captain of the side for a good few years as he was with England which shows what a great captain he was.
Everytime Alan Shearer went on to the pitch he gave 100% for Newcastle but unfortunatly only had one FA Cup runners-up medal to show for it.
He twice famously turned down moves to Manchester United because he wanted to go the club he supported as a boy and win trophies for Newcastle but even with the prolific goalscorer like Alan Shearer the run without winning a major trophie continues.
The Newcastle United fans supported Shearer through-out his career and he was one of th best strikers Newcastle United had and even now he`s retired from Football the loyal Newcastle support wants the former England centre-forward to become their manager.
